    Players to watch

    • Hunter Wolcott (United States) – Wolcott jumped from No. 86 to No. 4 in the Fortinet Cup after his first career victory as a professional at the Diners Club Peru Open. A native of Tennessee, Wolcott finished as the No. 34 player in the 2024 Fortinet Cup after earning status through PGA TOUR Americas Mid-Season Q-School.
    • Jay Card III (United States) – Card battled through tough conditions and various delays in Quito to claim his first career win as a professional at the KIA Open. Card has appeared in all four events of the PGA TOUR Americas season and sits at No. 2 in the Fortinet Cup.
    • Maxwell Moldovan (United States) – After a rookie season where Moldovan missed eight cuts in nine starts, the second-year pro broke through for his first professional win at the 70th ECP Brazil Open. Moldovan followed up his win with a T9 finish at the KIA Open and maintains his hold on the No. 3 spot in the Fortinet Cup.
    • Ryan Grider (United States) – In his PGA TOUR Americas debut, Grider claimed his first victory as a professional in his 12th PGA TOUR-sanctioned event at the 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich in Cordoba, Argentina. Grider claimed the top spot in the Fortinet Cup after his win and has not relinquished it through four starts.
    • Michael Brennan (United States) – Brennan, a Fortinet Ambassador, has not missed a cut this season and registered his third top-10 finish of the season at the Diners Club Peru Open after finishing T10. Brennan has not fallen outside of the top-10 of the Fortinet Cup all season and currently holds the No. 8 spot.
    • Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (Argentina) – Oliveira, a Fortinet Ambassador, has made three cuts in four starts and currently sits at No. 27 in the Fortinet Cup.
    • Ricardo Celia (Colombia) – Celia has not missed a cut this season and has not finished worse than T20 in any event on PGA TOUR Americas in 2025. Celia enters this week at No. 6 in the Fortinet Cup after a T16 finish at the Diners Club Peru Open.
    • A.J. Ewart (Canada) – Ewart has been a model of consistency in 2025 with four made cuts in four starts. The Coquitlam, British Columbia native, carded his best finish of the season at the Diners Club Peru Open (T10) and moved up to No. 25 in the Fortinet Cup.
    • Jorge Villar (Mexico) – A Puebla, Mexico native, Villar sits outside of the top-60 entering the Bupa Championship. Villar has made two cuts in four starts and needs to move inside the top 60 to secure status for the North America Swing.
    • Santiago de la Fuente (Mexico) – de la Fuente finished as the No. 23 player in the 2024 PGA TOUR University Ranking and will be making his PGA TOUR Americas debut at the Bupa Championship. de la Fuente has made two PGA TOUR starts this season at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld and the Puerto Rico Open.
    • Rodolfo Cazaubon (Mexico) – The Tampico, Mexico native finished as the No. 71 player in the 2024 Fortinet Cup. A four-time winner on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, Cazaubon currently sits at No. 43 in the Fortinet Cup after two top-25 finishes in his last three starts.

    Tournament history

    Club de Golf Mexico hosts the Bupa Championship for the first time in 2025. Two past champions of the Bupa Championship are in the field this week, with Patrick Newcomb (2021) and Jesus Montenegro (2022) returning to make their third and fourth starts at the event.

    Fortinet Cup overview

    The Bupa Championship is the fifth event of the Latin America Swing (Segment I) and the 2025 PGA TOUR Americas season. Segment I is comprised of six events in Latin America across six countries. After Segment I, the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup standings will retain status for the North America Swing (Segment II). Membership for Segment II will include the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup, players who earn exempt status through PGA TOUR Americas Mid-Season Q-School and players 11-25 in the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking.
